BCA Admission Process
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a great course for students who want a career in the IT field.
Good news is — students from Science, Commerce, or Arts streams can apply for BCA!
However, some colleges may prefer students who studied Maths or Computer Science in Class 12.
Here’s the complete admission process in simple steps:
Check Eligibility:
Before applying, students must make sure they are eligible:
Passed Class 12 from a recognized board (CBSE, ICSE, State Board, etc.)
Scored at least 50% marks (some colleges accept 45% too)
Some colleges prefer students with Maths or Computer Science background, but it’s not compulsory everywhere.

In India, students can get BCA admission in two ways:
By giving a BCA entrance exam
By direct admission (merit-based, based on Class 12 marks)

You must have passed Class 12 (with minimum marks as required) to apply for the entrance exam.
Also, check the specific college or university rules.

Keep an eye on the official notification for BCA entrance exams like CUET or IPU CET.
Read the details carefully (exam date, syllabus, eligibility).
Step 3:
Fill out the online application form on the entrance exam’s official website or the college’s website.
Step 4:
Pay the application fee online.
After payment, check your email or SMS for a confirmation message that your form is submitted successfully.
Step 5:
When the admit card is released, download it from the website.
Take a printout because you will need it on the exam day.
Step 6:
Appear for the BCA entrance exam on the given date.
Prepare well to score good marks!
Step 7:
Once the results are out, check your entrance exam score and compare it with the college cut-off marks.
Step 8:
Some colleges may have further selection rounds like:
Personal Interview (PI)
Group Discussion (GD)
Counseling sessions
You will need to clear these rounds too.
Step 9:
If you are selected, you will have to complete the document verification process.
You must submit original certificates (Class 10, 12 marksheets, ID proof, etc.) for final admission.
